Independent Booksellers Book Prize 2012 – Scholastic Children’s Books secures seven nominations

Scholastic Children’s Books are delighted to announce that SEVEN of our titles have been shortlisted for the Independent Bookseller’s Week Book Award 2012.

Shortlisted from Scholastic Children’s Books are Tom Gates: Everything’s Amazing by Liz Pichon and Ella by Alex T. Smith. Shortlisted from Marion Lloyd Books is One Dog and His Boy by the late Eva Ibbotson, with illustrations by Sharon Rentta. All Fall Down by Sally Nicholls, The Whizz Pop Chocolate Shop by Kate Saunders and Blood Red Road by Moira Young are also shortlisted. NEVER Say NO to a Princess! is shortlisted from Alison Green Books, written by Tracey Corderoy and illustrated by Kate Leake.

The shortlist of twelve children’s titles were selected by a judging panel of independent booksellers who chose them as the best independent titles for 2012, from nominations put forward by publishers. The IBW Book Award is unique amongst book prizes as it is the only award chosen by independent booksellers in the UK and their customers.
